This Brief required me to individually and singularly, initiate, compose, edit, design produce and publish a 'Zine'.
The subject I decided to base my Zine on is the Print Trade, myself being in the Trade and working with people that have been in this trade for many years, I thought it would be appropriate to inform and bring to attention to designers what dire need the Print trade is in. It being in the state it is in I decided to name the zine bleed, I did this for two reasons, the first because the trade is almost bleeding slowly dying out, the second was to highlight a design element throughout the zine, I thought it would be appropriate for the front cover to have a solid colour and text bleed completely off the edges. (This element would be seen on every issue of the zine)
I also designed these front covers to only consist of two colours, by doing this it was more cost efficient i.e saving on printing plates and lithography set up charges (for example using two plates and two colour baths is going to be cheaper than four plates and 4 ink baths if it were to go on the 4 colour machines).
